Shaping confident, capable pilots in
the heart of East Tennessee.

Richard never made me feel rushed or intimidated. He was patient, understanding, and explained things until I got it. His calm demeanor helped me overcome a lot.

Richard is an exceptional flight instructor whose depth of knowledge and precision made every lesson a masterclass in aviation. I always felt safe and informed in his hands.

No matter how many times I needed something clarified, Richard was right there with a helpful analogy or a fresh way to look at the problem.

About Me
I'm Richard A. Taylor II, an FAA-certified Flight Instructor with over 1,200 hours in the air, including 900+ hours of dual instruction. Inspired by my father’s career in the Air Force and commercial aviation, I earned my Instrument, Commercial, CFI, and CFII ratings to chart my own path in the skies.
Born and raised in East Tennessee, I’m proud to serve the community that shaped me. I currently instruct out of Morristown Flying Service near Knoxville, where I focus on safety, clear communication, and helping students succeed—whether they're training for a Private, Instrument, or Commercial license.
Outside the cockpit, I’m a guitarist, outdoorsman, and hands-on tinkerer with a love for mechanics and creative problem-solving. Whether I’m training future pilots or exploring the Smokies, I’m driven by curiosity, precision, and a deep connection to the place I call home.
